Ok, here is the video of the x7 First swing didnt count as it was way off center lol. did it so many less swings than our old hatched would even dream of doing it in. piece was frozen. literally had to use a sledge hammer to knock it out of the frozen pool of water it was in (was 0F last night) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHwwnrbxv9Q[/ame]
i had to check out in my garage, the X7 is the same one i've got. just wait 'till you try it on a dry peice of wood, it'll split with damn near one hit.
Haha yeah, can't wait till summer. Will split kindling so damn easy now. And my x15 is amazing. No time at all to chop through a tree.
Haha nice man. We haven't started into ours yet. But here's a few of the piles. ^ all that void area was all trees. We got a lot of work this summer lol.
That's not even all of it lol. That's just what's at my brothers place. We got maybe two piles like the ones in the first pics at our place to. All of it aside from the downed trees in the last pic is about 2-3 years old so it will be perfect for this winter and next.
Hard to say. We don't really stack it according to chords. But a few years ago when all we had cut was fresh stuff we went and bought two chords and we had a bit left over at the end. All depends on the winter. 2011/2012 winter was so mild we barely even had fires going. But this winter just past we still had fires going in may lol.
Yeah the last two here, we burned about 6 cords. I figured my wood bins each hold 2.8 cords of wood and this year I had to dip into the drying racks
What do you heat? Just a house? Or a shop as well? We just got a small wood stove. Heats our house wonderfully. Doesn't even use much wood. As long as its decent wood.
I heat the whole house. The stove I have is a smaller one that holds 17" logs. I have a blower attached and it heats the whole house. Other than that, I have electric baseboard heat and that is expensive.
