With the current Ranger, we used it while we were moving last weekend. Had a trailer hooked up to the back of it for the furniture. So yeah, nothin too dramatic there lol

I had to once haul a 150 bushel wagon full of corn into the Elevator after my Dad's tractor broke down.
That 4cyl. Auto /OD in my 1998 . Put Her in Low and Slow but She did it.
    People were .

So I think that is a pretty good test of towing power.

    Thats pretty good.

Most I've towed with the ex was a trailer that probably weighs around 500 pounds had it loaded with .98 ton of rock. So nothing too much at the scales I all together weighed in at 7,020 Pounds and towed bout 15 miles home.

    That's including your Explorer, right?

I just read on an article here that the max towing capacity of the Ranger 3.0 is almost 6k. I'm impressed. Especially once considered that the 04-08 F150 short bed 4.2 is max rated at just under 5k if I remember right.

Yeah that includes the explorer. The tow rating also depends on your transmission and differential gearing.

All I can say It was a "Damn Good Truck" and I probably hauled more than I was supposed too more often .

I had a pallet of stone walking pads 12x12" 50 put in the back and drove them home (40) miles at 55 in "Drive".

I just know they were "Heavy " when I was putting them down (made out of concrete). Load of Cypress Mulch .

I did break 1 leaf spring I didn't know about until I had my Brakes done.

So If there still made that well there the best "Small Truck" Out There.

I just moved some feet, and it started his engine.

Have to scan in the pics if I can find them but we towed our race car (3200 lbs. dry) on a full deck 16' tandem alxe trailer with a full tire rack and tool box on the trailer with a bed full of spare parts every weekend with a 92 4.0 STX with absolutely no problems at all. I even think it was uphill both ways...........
