I can now, yes...But the parts were not interchangable between the 6 cyl he has now and the 4 cyl. drivetrain the new parts came out of. Had to make 1 transfer case out of 2, shorten the existing 4 cyl. driveshaft AND change out the rear yoke because the output splines on the transmissiona are different, the 6 cyl tranny's longer, and the rear axle took a different u-joint...freakin nightmare..
on making the shorter driveshaft , you did balance it ? did you balance it yourself or take it to a shop, those can be a bit tricky especially the L O N G drive shafts such as in streched limos, maybe on a shorty not much there to balance.. There is an old school garage out here that does modified street racers. Been in there a few times and seems like they are always cutting a driveshft and re-balancing them, spin balance in what looks like a homemade lathe contraption lol
The shaft's only 13.5 inches in length. There was no vibrations whatsoever. I kept one wieght on it when I shortened it. Seems perfect to me. I have a local shop that does my balancing on longer driveshafts. Usually around $50/pop
at 13.5 inches I dont think you will get enough wobble out of it then. Unless it's driven on the highway, might get a bit of wobble, but it seems like it's more off road than highway . post up some more pics
I was actually thinking about it. I can get a camo kit for my truck for fairly cheap Edit: Here it is
Not bad lookin. When camo was first getting popular, I saw a newish F-150 all camoed out with some big chrome rims. SPEXY!
