I really liked my ’88, great little truck but the cab size on my ’03 put its to shame.
I put a 5.0 in it with a C4, not really an auto guy but it was OK, great for smoke shows.
I started my latest truck search with an ’88 search but nothing came up that was worth the trouble. when I got to this ’03, it was almost everything I had been looking for short of a V8. I am trying to get parts together to do a 5.0L conversion but very slow progress as most of my projects are; too many house and yard things to do.
I e-mail a guy asking him about your problem, although it appears to be fixed you never know.
Some of the 2004+ have problems with a small amount of water getting into the SJB and causing any number of weird issues. This could include individual or combination problems involving lights, wiper/washer, windows, locks, radio or anything else timed or powered through the SJB. The symptoms often crop up the first time after a heavy rain or snow. I'd look very carefully at the entiire SJB area for any signs of moisture.
Hello, having this problem on an 04 ranger I just purchased this week. Was wondering if the problem ever came back from you or if you found a perminant fix. Tonight I wiggled the wires on the bottom connector in the pictures that were posted earlier in this post and it stoped the problem for now. Plan to take the connector off and clean it good when I get the time. But was just wondering if anyone else had this problem or it ever came back for you. Thank you.
Well think I found the issue, the bottom plug is corroded and the top plug is corroded and full of water. Glad I found this forum. Time for some clean up.
Well all cleaned up and everything seems to be working well. Now to figure out where the leak is coming from... Great info on here thanks for sharing what y'all had and found.
