The**OFFICIAL** "What I did to my truck today" Thread

I see Cooper Cobras all over the place. Got these from Discount Tire Online via eBay. I like the tires, they ride pretty smooth. They are coming off tomorrow. Putting the stock wheels and tires back on for winter.
 
Hey, that fiberglass tonneau you got...does it really make that much difference with the gas mileage, or do you know?
 
I honestly don't know. I have owned two Rangers, both were Edge models, extended cabs with the fiberglass ARE tonneau. This truck gets an average 21 mpg (3.0), where the 2001 I had gave me 23-24 mpg (4.0). I'm sure the tonneau makes the truck slightly more aerodynamic, but not sure how much.

Well, it is 65 degrees and raining today, so I put my winter wheels on. When it drys up a bit, I will wash and wax the AR172s and put them in their cocoon for the winter. Couldn't get in the mood to do anything else to her today. :)
 
Moe? LMAO try Michael :) Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending how you look at it), I am not a sports aficionado. I just took the afternoon playing around on various forums and listening to the dog snore! LOL
 
The access road to my job is 3 miles of rick dust or rock mud. Sometimes both at the same time. Guess how long my truck
stays clean. LOL
 
Well that just sucks! At least I have all highway driving, although there is 35 miles of it both ways (plenty of bugs). Washed mine last Saturday... had it looking showroom perfect. Then it rained Saturday night and all day Sunday and part of Monday. At least it had a clean exterior to rain on! LOL
 
Flushed my brake lines today.. took about an hour or so. The old DOT 3 was dam near black. Fortunately no rust on the bleeders. But I did find one blessed screw that was 1/4 inch so I had to rig up a new bleeder hose.. innate when things don't match..lol
 
Oh, ok, I see what you're saying now.
Seems like I only ever needed an 8mm (5/16") wrench to twist the bleeders, regardless whether they were calipers or wheel cylinders.
I don't know, it was over 20 years ago. Maybe things have changed since then.
 
Well it's been interesting for my truck lately. I've had to replace a rear leaf spring hanger & shackle, rear wheel cylinder, upper & lower ball joints, a bearing/hub assembly, a alternator, & 2 tires which also required a front end alignment. She's better now than she was brand new!!! Anybody else turning wrenches lately??
