Anyone ever wonder why there are no seatbelts on School buses? I just learned about this in a NHTSA school I took. Turns out seatbelts aren't needed in school buses (I still think its BS) because of seat height. The way the seats are made front and back are the same height, they call it "compartmentalization". So if the school bus were in an accident, the child would be bounced around in the so called "compartment" the seats maintain with the height. I don't know about you guys, but when I went to school, the padding was always moved and you could feel the steel frames through the vinyl. I think its stupid but the gubment says otherwise.
