Project: Firewood stock pile!!

Hooligan

Rangerholic!!
I got a new toy a few months ago, figured I would cut, split my own firewood to save money. The logs I get arent seasoned well, but it only takes a few months to season once they are split.
This is the new toy

Of course I failed to take a picture of the second pile after it was all split.
Part #2, Build wood racks. Part of the second pile is in this shot. This part of my yard used to be trees and a dog run from a previous owner, I started clearing this 3 years ago and this is the first year I can use it for the firewood!

The wood racks and wood stacking was done in 2 days (thank god it went quick) I still have 3/4 of pile #1 to stack and another load already cut waiting to be split. More wood racks to come along with more splitting and stacking!

looks great, but a good way to cut and split wood is to move to a warm winter climate and then there is NO Need to do all that. ;)

Sounds like mine I keep the thermostat set at 70-72 year round and every winter she screams it's too cold in here. So I tell her to go get a blanket.

Yeah I have to do that, tell her to get a blanket. It get ridiculous sometimes! I think its comfortable, she starts a fire and I sweat my nuts off!

The stack is finished, still have half a pile to stack from the first load (Giggity). Tomorrow will be more wood racks to build, and stack the first of the split pile.

I would have to charge more for rent to cover the cost of the roof and a/c unit :D

One nice day is all I had. I had to bust my ass in between taking the kids to school and picking them up. 1 more wood rack made, 13'Lx6'H and stacked all the wood from the first delivery. The other racks were leveled off a little more as well.
This is the rack. I had to build a little more supports for it just to make sure it was solid enough to take on more weight from the other rack. After 8 straight days of rain, the mosquitos were real bad. So I brought the little fire pit over and smoked them out.
