i dont know why it seems all patchy with different colors all over like that? anyone know???
looks like its in good shape, i just dont know why when its sanded it has different colored areas like that? is that normal??
what comes to my mind is that its been patched, or bondo or something all over in different spots?????
but its fiberglass so its all unusual to me....
should i take it?
he wants $200, do i drive the 3 hours to get it, maybe offer him $150?
i have a guy at work that paints on the side, has his own shop, and can have him paint it to match my truck probably this spring for like $200.

The different color spots looks like primer to me.

yep thats what it is.... the guy called me back and said he used some primer and resurfacer to fix some scratches and some rock chips... he said the hood has no bondo and no dents... just had some minor scratches and chips...

going to pick it up tomorrow!

Ok so I just got home and got the hood put away in the shed...got the hood for $190.

Anyway when I pulled into this guys shop, out in the middle of nowhere, he has two huge garage shops and out front he has several wrecked and damaged trucks and cars, one being a regular cab red ranger, must have been either a 98 or 99. It had been rolled, the passenger side door was in the bed and the bed and tailgate were damaged as well as the drivers side part of the roof and the passenger side front part of the bumper.

So I go into the main shop, and he has a blue pt cruiser that is having the front end redone and painted, next to it is a 70 GTO that is having its roof redone, then a few other old cars I couldn't tell what they were, as well as a huge green John Deere tractor and a semi truck all being worked on.
Then off in the corner is a burgundy 04 ranger ext cab 4 door.
The guy tells me he got the truck from his bosses kid who rolled it. He already replaced the top of the cab and 3 of the 4 doors and the front fenders and was working on getting the new hood on it, since the 01 powerdome hood wouldnt fit even tho the junkyard guys said it would. He had all the seats and interior gutted and was working away on it.
Really nice guy.
And he is currently driving his wife's explorer, which has the 302 in it lol.

Anyway about 200 mile trip there and I averaged like 16.5 mpg...not bad with my big tires...im sure the superchips flashpaq helped
