Play in CV Joint normal?

Alrighty, so what I thought was the hubs, turns out to possibly be the CV joint. I really don't think there is supposed to be a ton of play in the thing, but I could be wrong.... I am so close to getting this truck to run and drive correctly, and I am looking to get anything out of anybody as far as suggestions and advice. Please help!!!!!!!!!!! Lmao

make sure all the balls are there and packed full of grease in the boot

i have a good amount of play in mine on my 99. i was told they should be tight. i checked em on my dads yota and they were tight. they were also tight on the exploder. everything works fine on my truck so i didnt really worry about it.

What kind of play are you talking about? Your CV's bolt to the hub and are splined which just slides into the front diff

I'm talking about the inside boot... Behind it, underneath the engine, has a **** ton of movement in every direction on the passenger side. The driver side is a bit tighter, but has some play in it as well.

You should have a 4:10 rear with limited slip. Your CV's may be shot, this is what happened to mine when I blew it

I've got 4.11s in it. I did the research and that's what I was told. I don't think it matters that much though. But yeah, I don't really want that to happen to me while I'm back at school...
