yeah they can be a tad bit pricy, luckally in roughly 200k miles it hasin't needed many parts replaced other than oil changes, tires & brakes. the engine is a honda 3.5 DOHC v6 so parts for that arn't too bad, did the timing belts at 130k miles. worst part for that engine is how much oil it uses, i was reading it's within factory specs for it to use 1.5+ quarts between 3k mile oil changes... it only holds 5 quarts of oil! other than that, a new muffler was priced around $300, replaced it with a thrush turbo muffler for under $30. stock rear springs were over $400, or heavy duty 1" lift coils we got were $160 shipped to my door. it's really a great vehicle, i want to swap a 350 chevy engine into it if the v6 ever goes.
lol yeah i thought it used alot too, i was very suprised to find out that was within factory specs! i'll never understand hondas, lol. the main thing that kills those engines is running out of oil, i know ours might show a hair low on the stick one day then the next it'll be bone dry. like i said if it had a SBC engine it would be a really great truck!
just ordered up some quick fist clamps. They will be used to hold my shovel to the inside of the bed. will do amini review/writeup on the install when I get them. If they work out good, i'll order more for an ax on the other side of the bed. gotta get my truck prepped for offroad camping this summer!
eh, 'caus it still runs and drives under it's own power, lol. someday when i forget to top off the oil and it goes kaboom i may give a swap a try, my dad's got probibly a half dozen SBC engine's laying around i could use, lol.
Well I yanked my motor out today, Thought I had a blown head gasket but it turns out my issue is else where. But I am not to certain this block is going back in the truck. There is a broken bell housing bolt on the lower left side
i somehow stumbled apon these videos of this guy shooting all kinds of stuff out of a shotgun, even like gummy bears and hot dogs lol check out their page https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1tsdfq16Ho&list=SPBE4AC0C59947E7A9&index=2
How much is he selling that lightbar and headlights for? Lol Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX using tapatalk 2
Let us know how they hold ? Wondering if under load they will let go and how fast they will wear and crack at the latch ? Why all the stickers ? Also, never noticed your rearward lights… would look good on a backrack and give more light spread !
Because stickers = horsepower And I will let you know how the clamps hold. They're pretty dam strong though. Will probably last forever. An yeah, the rear lights are great. Used many times especially over winter when loading/unloading things from the bed. And I've got them just a tad loose so I can turn them to the sides as well.
Get a new block, stroke and bore it to 327 cubic inches and put her back in. I wish I had the V-8 in, 5.0L EFI, long rod, waiting in the back corner.
Headlights look trashed. You can byy those light bars for $300 shipped online brand new, no use in buying his broken mess.
