Some of you might find some intrest in this. I built this machine to cut the mother inlaws 1 acre orchard. My first idea was an offset tow behind to cut down on time. Almost a 9' cutting path. I quickly found that in order to cut the usually 1' weeds of the field, I would need to open the front up. The deck folds the weeds over and the blades wont cut it. By having the bend above the blades, everything gets cut.

If you follow the pics you will see that there was alot of redesign and having to go much bigger! The wheels...FAIL! And the first go around of the pulling arm completely ripped off. So I installed a tractor 3-point hitch bar....WIN!

On to the pics!

This is what it looked like in my head......

And you don't have a job why? That's actually decent hill billy fab work... you can obviously lay a decent bead with a welder.

we have a build thread for a lawnmower.... on a ranger forum..

Like I said before, its cool man.....I think its great work and the member is proud of it. Again, if you think its bad, look at my firewood thread, yes there is a firewood thread in a ranger forum lol

Necessity is the mother of all invention. Yeah, its put together. But hey, it does the job it is designed for. And I did not have to spend 2k for a store built model.

fwiw, total cost on this build. ~$150

HA!
Redneck engineering at it's finest.

Heck, I would have made 2 of them & put one on each side of the mower.
