State of the union address first ever occurance

As I am sitting here watching the state of the union address by the president, I rolled my eyes a few times at the people constantly getting up out of their seats clapping. Gun reform comes up, I glance to my right while shaking my head and this was a total surprise.

It seems my cat was paying attention and showed even more emotion than I over the speech.
 
I wish he talked more about Afghanistan and how we are going to use drones. I do want something to be done in response to the Newtown shootings though. But that's probably because I was personally affected a lot more than most people. I live about an hour away from there and have family in newtown that knew many of the victims and their family's. I think we should look at the mental aspect though not the gun control.
 
The thread was intended for joking around, not to get into a political debate about gun control. Everyone has an opinion on it, yet it is out of our hands as far as the political motions and what should be done.
 
Well your cat certainly shows more emotion than my dog who is laying under a blanket not moving at all an growling when I move her.
 
I also noticed that he wants the min. wage to increase to 9 per hour. Bout time, you would never hear a republican say that! Now in 2015 I will have to pay my mexican yard worker more denero

I think Obama is doing a good job all in all, specially with the obstructionist party of NO. The people voted I guess they really did not want some rich prick who never walked a day in their lives/shoes and was out of touch with reality of day to day struggles

min wage should be at least 10 bucks an hour with an increase for cost of living just like everything else then it would have never gotten out of control in one direction
 
Yeah, I dont like that corporations can run the freaking country, and he (robme) was so sure he had bought the election that he was so shocked and was not prepared to lose. He also switched his position on every thing he said more than once. plus I am not affraid of a black man in office. or a woman if the next one elected is a woman. Not gonna start a pissin match but that is the least of my worries! A pro muslim socialist eroding the Constitution and the bill of rights is! You don't have to worry about the corporations better you worry about China owning half of this country already. You should be deeply concerned about what this government is doing to us right now, right before our eyes.* They don't even try to hide their contempt for citizens anymore.* They are full bore out to change things for the worst.* Too many Repubs are not conservative and are on his side.* Look for martial law and worse in the coming couple of years.* That is just the start. Obama wants to be the ruler of the New World Order and he has to disarm us and get us under UN rule before that can happen.* Crashing the economy, stripping our military of it's capability to prosecute a foreign war, all required to bring us under the UN yoke. If he is not then why did he have the secret service order that all of the Marines in the inauguration parade have the bolts removed from their rifles? you have your opinion, I have mine. I think alot of people see it the way I did otherwise moneybags would have got in office. If you are worried about the constitutional rights, what are your views on the Patriot Act, G. Bush created, That Obama should have abolished.

And crashing the economy also goes to G. Bush. hmmm I know we should forget about bush, thats what he wants us to do . I am sure of that.

I guess we will see what happens. I have weapons, and ya know I have not had anyone come to get them, and dont think that will happen. and Yes if the corporations own America you better be worried, cause it will be bad for everyone but them.

Yes, everyone has an opinion which they are entilted to. I made this thread just as a joke and not create any anymosity between members. It is fine to believe in something and have a strong opinion on your beliefs and it is applaudable. How ever for now, so we don't have any fights here I will close this thread.
