http://www.crutchfield.com/p_777B8PT/Sound-Ordnance-B-8PT.html i found this powered sub on crutchfield for sale that i like. i think i could fit it under my seat or behind it. its on sale for 160 with a new wiring kit which is apparently a $50 dollar value. im thinking about this because the system im looking at would be about 300 i total with a separate sub and amp. what do you guys think about it?

Never heard any of the subs with amps built together, but have heard from a few people that there pretty nice. Try it and let us know.
Never seen that either. I've seen the MTX Thunderform boxes that are molded to fit the vehicle before that come with or without an amp built-in and a 10" sub. I actually bought my little brother one for his '01 reg cab and it fits like a glove! But back to the linked box thing. It's pretty cool, but really underpowered. It may very well might be just the right amount of newly added bass for these tiny little cabs we've got. And for what it's worth, $300 is NOTHING for a boom upgrade. lol. I dropped $600 in mine and it's nothing fancy at all...........6 years ago! lol.
OK on that I know you have been through a few ideas, like me, can’t determine the best approach. You are jumping ship too ? A lot of people are getting rid of their Ranger and going Chebby or Jeep. Luck to ya,
