while getting my oil changed on my truck the mechanic said that my trans was way overfilled. after that while doing my plugs i had my friend check it out and he said it was about double what it should be. how do i go about removing some fluid from the truck? and how is it affecting it?

Is the tranny shifting strange? Or acting up at all? If not, they're probably looking at it wrong. The tranny would be acting VERY strangely if it were that overfilled.
ive got an automatic. sometimes the truck shifts very hard. it almost surges forward. but most of the time it goes nice and smooth.
I would say it's not overfilled then. Do they realize you check the tranny fluid when it's hot and in Nuetral?
Check the fluid after it's warmed up from driving 10 miles or so, shift through all the gears, park on a level surface, pull the dipstick, wipe it off, re-insert, pull it out and check.
