So ive been doing to many burnouts and to many peel outs and its time for new tires. the tires i have now are P235/75R15 108S. now my question is this, i want more/bigger tread. but i want to keep the stock rims. what would the code be if i want 3 inches of more rubber. any help is appreciated.
 
generally 235/75/15 are 28-29" roughly... so for more you could go to 30/10.5/15 or 31/10.5/15 and you may even be able to turn 33/10.5/15 depending on your gear ratio but i would say with 33's would be a PITA to turn and kill you MPG even more than they are now....
 
well i only want a 2 or 3 inch lifts from the tires since im not lifting the body for suspension. so 30 is 300 right? whats the 10.5?
 
go with 31x10.50x15.

wont need different wheels, and will still fit with no issues. as the level II FX4's came with that size from factory.

thats the biggest you can go before needing new wheels, or a body lift/suspension lift.

tjhe tires you have now are 29" tires. so you will gain about 1/2" to 3/4"" of lift from the tires alone.

mounted, they will be a little smaller though. all tires ive ever seen when mounted and on the vehicle, are always smaller than advertised. I think my 31's when I had them were right around 30.5" tall.

my 32's are sitting at 31.5" tall as well.

no, your current tires are 28.9" tall.

235 is 9.25" wide.

so, your tires are 29x9.25x15

ones you should get, are 31x10.50x15
 
235 is the width of the tire.

235 mm is equal to 9.25 inches.

75 is the percent of the width, that is sidewall. so, 75% of 235 is 176 which is equal to 6.9"

so the widewall is 6.9" * 2 since its round = 13.8 + the 15" rim = 28.8

thats the long way of figuring it out.

but, just go to google, there are tire size converters that will convert them for you.
 
yep. stock wheels are 7" wide. so you will be fine with a 10.5" wide tire.

like i said earlier, some stock rangers come with that sized tire. so its all good.
 
alright cool. what are the cheapest best tires i can get? i want the offroad look for the street. 99% of its life is on the street. but i cant spend 600 on tires
 
what gears do you currently have in the truck?

open your driver side door, and look at the sticker. there will be a section that says axle code.

post what it lists under that. Will help determine how the truck will react to larger tires
