Hi all, I have a 93 Ranger XLT SC 2WD 3.0 V-6. A few days ago I noticed it was cranking hard on start up. I thought it might be due to the fact that it had been sitting a couple of weeks without being started and the battery might have drained some. But even after driving it 40+ miles it still started hard. Yesterday I went to the store when I came out and tried to start the truck all I got was a click no cranking at all. Tried jumping it, no effect, had to compression start it to get home. Once home, I tried to jump across the solenoid terminals and that didn’t work either. So now I’m thinking starter maybe? I’ve heard there might be a relay and/or a fuse-able link negative battery cable that might be at fault too. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance

Bump So, 2 days and no responses....Hmm. No Matter, turns out the problem was 2 fold; dead starter and bad ignition switch.
