hey guys im back for the same issue.... its been about 3 months and my 1996 ranger recently started its idling fits again... wen it comes down from the rpm's the motor wats to almost die and has a couple times and wen im driving it gets stuck in high rpm's.. heres the stuff i have already done: new spark plugs and wires (correct gap) new idle control valve, replace all dry vacuum lines and new egr valve.. i even tryed messing with the idle to see if that did anything and im still getting no where and tired of spending money... any help?

I had a similar issue, half the pack was bad and it didnt throw a code once. Also check the catalytic converter

that makes sense but idk why the problem went away for a couple months and then started again

I had a 93 that did that til it finally did it constantly. I spent about 1k trouble shooting it myself when it was a bad pack

  12. Check the O2 sensor too... Sometimes they go bad and make it run rough. Not sure if they always throw a code on it

I had the same engine in my 93, 2 packs one was bad. Also if it were an O2 sensor, it WILL throw a code

  18. Not on my buddy's truck...lol It was weird.

I'm sure any of your "buddies" have the weird happen alot lol. On REGULAR rangers and pretty much any vehicle..an )2 sensor WILL throw a code

i actually just came from outside and i did a little test.. the motor is capable of running off of only one coil pack so i unplugged each one to see if i hear i difference... i unplugged the back one and the truck ran smooth.. i unplugged the front one and the truck just about died leading me to believe that the back one is bad... wat do you guys think?
