    Hi there
I have a 95 ranger 2.3 and when I went to smog it, the tech brought to my attention the check engine light did
not work. He said it needed the bulb to be replaced. I replaced the bulb with a new factory one and it didn't
work still. I checked all fuses and carefully looked at the cluster circuit board but everything looks good. I was
told it might be the ecm so I changed it with my other ranger (same year) and it didn't solve the problem either. I even swapped out the instrument cluster and still nothing. All the wiring looks really good and I'm completely lost as to what to do. Any suggestions? Thanks everyone!!

This is really a stretch, but it is possible it is the ignition switch. You have eliminated all the logical causes, so not sure about this one. Sorry I can't be more helpful!

This is so bizarre, I will try the ignition switch and hope for the best. Thanks for your reply.
