hello everyone new xlt owner here with a tranny question. 98 xlt 3.0 California truck when in park the colomb shift indicater shows almost in reverse. As well all other gears show close to next one. Other day it wouldn’t start just clicked so I got under it and had to move the shift mechanizm over more so it knew it was safe to start. Anyone know where to adjust this linkage? I see where it connects to a bracket with a plastic clip but no adjustment well thanks

Hello Leslie and welcome to the forum! The shift indicator has an adjustment behind the panels below the steering wheel. If the truck just "clicks" when the key is turned, you have another problem. Typically, when you get the click, either the battery is low or the starter is bad.
