if u go to ur local dealer u can replace only the ring, its cheaper and all u need to do is brake off the tone ring n use a wire brush to clean off the axle then take a deadblow hammer n hit on the new ring
Have same problem except my ABS kicks in just prior to coming to a complete stop and the wheel pulls hard to the right so I am thinking the passenger side front sensor is bad? Friggin dealer wants $100 just to diagnose with a computer hook up! Any thoughts? Thanks Karl
Mine was engaging for a bit prior to the light coming on so it may be a matter of time. If you need to do hubs it is pretty simple so we can walk you though it and I can refer you to good ones as well.
Abs Hmmm...Hubs, OK so what kind of $ figure are we talking about? My problem is, besides limited funds, where I am living now I don't have a place to do do that kind of maint. So I would end up taking it somewhere and enduring a $oaking. The ABS has been doing this for several months.
You can go to Rockauto.com, order Timkin front hub assemblies for an 07 ranger. They are the same as yours, the abs plug is a little different looking but they do work. They are around 130.00 each, compared to the ones that are made for your year which are over 200 each. If you can trek to PA, I'll help you do them. I have the tools and garage to do it in so weather wouldnt be a factor.
