    Hello,

I haven't been around for a while but was interested in what the Members of this Site might say.

    I have an '03 EDGE, 4x, and want to swap the 3.0L for a 5.0L !
The swap is intended for ease of driving and possible better MPG, but not for speed or high performance.

Is there a way in SoCal to get this done without all of the interference of the CAGov.com Stuff.

    Thanks

You are not going to get better MPG with a 5.0. HP, oh yea! Although, California is pretty stinky about putting different engine in a vehicle. You will need a donor vehicle (a wreck Explorer with 5.0) where you can get all the parts transfer over to your Ranger. It is going to a lot of cutting and welding, but it is possible. After it is done and $$$$$ later, you will have to take it to a vehicle referee (I think it is CHP).
