    Hello,
I have a 2000, 3.0l, 2WD, manual. For a few months the wipers would stop working (along with the washer pump). At first when they would stop, they would resume after turning off then on again. As time went on, the time between going off and coming back on would get more and more. Now they have completely stopped. It has been six days. Thankfully no rain. All fuses and relays seem to be working when tested with the test light. Voltage meter reads correctly when tested fuse/relay box. Checked wiring going to wiper motor and had signal on at first try then lost it. Bought new multifunction switch, still doesn't work. Any suggestions? Is it possible for the whole GEM to be bad if the only thing affected is the wipers and washer pump? Is it possible for a bad motor to cause this? Thanks for any info. Our sticker is out and we desperately need to figure this out.

Husband checked where the washer pump relay goes in with the test light, while truck is on and wipers on. Nothing. The test light doesn't light up, but does when touched to other outlets. What does this mean? Please help!

Relays all seem to be in working order. We are going to try a refurbished GEM. Hopefully that is it. We have to order it. I will try to remember to update. Thank you for responding!

Just tried to find a refurbished GEM with the part #. I'm only finding used ones. Any refurbished or new ones don't have the exact part#. The middle is the same but not beginning or end. My part# is xl2t-14b205-ad. I've been told that used ones are not always good to use, being an electronic component. Anyone with good ideas on our best step forward. We've got to get this fixed. Thanks so much for any help.

Problem with the Ford Rangers, when they stopped making them, they immediately stopped making all parts for it, too.
Normally, a manufacturer will continue to supply parts for a discontinued vehicle for about 10 years after production has ended.
Best to check with the aftermarket.

Well, I had found a new GEM with same number. Wipers and washer pump still not working. hubs and I went through the fuses in the side panel, again. Got the highbeams working again, :) fuse in wrong spot. Used a light pen to test each fuse. Got to the 28 7.5 fuse location and nothing. It is specifically for the GEM and radio. Fuse is actually fine. Hubs tests the port/plugin for the fuse and no juice. Goes to the fuse and relay box under hood. Everything works except 1) wiper park relay 3) wiper hi/lo relay & 14) washer pump relay. Haven't tested the relays themselves, yet, but the plugins have no juice anyway. I don't get it. Is this a wire problem? If it's the plugins, can you replace just the ones affected or buy a whole new box? Are we going in the right direction, lol?

Electricity don't flow if there's an opening in the circuit...Test the relay's.
