I wouldn't advise tapping into the marker lights to power any additional lights. The stock wiring isn't designed for that additional load.

You could tap into the marker light's power wire to trigger a relay that would power the fogs directly from the battery. Depending on the year of truck you have the wire colors may differ.

To find the correct wire, turn on the headlights and use a 12V probe to find a power wire.
Double check it to see if there is power when the lights are off and if there is power when the headlights are on.

What Buggman said is the correct way to do the wiring.
Marker Lights and Parking Lights are the same wiring but the Marker is tapped off the Parking Light circuit.
Look for the Parking Light wire instead of the marker light, it is a little larger gauge.

Run that wire to pin 86 on the relay and that should activate the relay when the parking lights are turned on.
Use a fuse in-line, low amperage rated, to be on the safe side.

What do you mean by “wanting marker lights” ?

Mine is a 2003 also and i did the marker light directional mod and the Fog Light with the high beam mod to it so far.
If you do the directional mod then the fog will not have power to them all the time and the relay would drop in and out as power it applied.

That is another reason to use the actual parking light wire.
I would also put a switch in line to shut them off if needed.
Some PDs can be real pr!cks when it comes t lighting.

You could add a double throw double throws switch (On-On), that way with the switch up can be “On” and down can be “Auto w/parkers”.
