Any pictures of the back of the projectors in the housings? How did you mount them on the heads? I got the new D2S still in the box and might just exchange for some FX-R's. Old D2S ended up being smashed in my front end accident
The frontside the top two holes have bolts through them to give it a little more solid mount. the back Side. also its gonna be attached using jb weld. and sealed with silicone. here is the hardware I bought.
The bolts that you have on the top to me looks like they are not going in through anything...? How is it staying in place? Also, did you have to trim your header panel?
Those bolts are threaded into the plastic. I used a bit slightly smaller than the bolt then just threaded it in. Mainly the bolts are there to hold it somewhat in place when I use the JB weld to make it permanent.
Just noticed this part of your post. But I have not finished them to a point of putting them in the truck. I had some family stuff pop up so I just really have not been up to it with everything thats going on. I have a feeling that minor trimming will be needed though
I got some more done today. 15ft away from the fence. the spread is 22ft wide Here is a test run on the truck. The driver side is the mini d2s I aimed it down a little so you can see the difference. Both are 35w the d2s has OEM Philips 85122+ and the fx-r has some fake 85122WX in 6000k but looks more 5000k than 6000k you can somewhat tell the temp difference in this picture
This is how im sealing the back. Part JB Weld part silicone. for the big gaps I used a piece of mesh for drywall work to bridge the gap
i went and looked at some HID yesterday and they guy told me that it would be beter just to take out the high.. kinda sounded dumb to me
Hey Ben. Guess what I just did? Sold my headlights with the Mini D2S in them and guess what I'm buying and doing next? Yup, you guessed it, FX-R! AWWWWWWWWW YYYYEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHH! Cannot wait!
They are all sealed up and waiting to fully cure and then they will be installed in the truck tomorrow. :gunsmilie: Yeah definitely not better at all. it will be alot worse. That guy is pretty dumb haha AWWW HECK YEAH!!!!!! Thats awesome!!!!!!! You will now be the 3rd person with FX-Rs in a Ranger... Well actually second cause the other person wont be done for awhile. haha. If you need any help let me know. you know my number. If you need at home service you are paying my CBBT toll. haha
