My wife’s 87 XLT with 2.9 V6 last week died in traffic. The temp was in the 70s. Car would not start or turnover, we assumed fuel pump or blocked fuel line. Took it to the mechanic and of course it’s now running fine. No gas was getting to the engine. Is vapor lock still possible with an EFI engine, or should I be looking at other possibilities? I don’t want my wife to get stuck. For now I’m going to run a tank of premium and can of STP fuel cleaner through it, but looking for advice.
