Tach problems

    I have a 92 ford ranger xlt with a 2.3l I can't find the wire in my harness to hook a tach up to the truck didn't come orginal with one I was gonna put one in for the hell of it with shift light any help would be appreciated

    That's weird because my 91 2.3L didn't come with a tach, and when I plugged one in from a 6 cyl it worked.
    I believe it's already there. The problem I have though is that the tack reads 333rpm less than it should because mine
    is a 4 cyl and the 6 cyl is configured different. At least I have a tach and when it reads 2,000 rpm, I just add 333 to it.
    I tried to find a 4 cyl tach but no luck.
