It rides really well and lowered the rear of the truck about 3 inches. Not too happy about that but I think I can fix that in the near future. The next thing is to get a posi unit. I will have to deal with wheel hop but I don't mind it, I loved it in "Bullit"! The guys at TruckIRS had never done a Ranger before either. One of the engineers came over to help with the install. I have to wonder if the IRS from an Expedition would work too. I will send that question to them to ponder.
that will be really sweet when you get it all done. since the rear is lowered you can lower the front now
Does the yoke on the rear axle match the one off the 8.8 you took off or did you have to swap it out? Also, is there CV shafts that have to go in there? And a better alternative for the gas tank would have been putting a bronco II tank in (they're just like jeeps)
I had to use the yoke from the T-Bird and a conversion U-Joint. That will do for now. When I upgrade to the 5.0 I will use the shaft from the donor vehicle and have it cut down or lengthened to meet the diff. There are halfshafts that go in, I was pulling the rear diff to have it rebuilt when the photo was taken. It was worn out and howled all the time. Gears were shot, so I had it rebuilt with 3.31 gears.
hey man how do you like those seats. how hard was it it to put in. i would love to put a set in since i love the style.
I really do like the seats. I have found on one of the forums that there is a list of seats that you can transplant into your ranger. Ford Escort seats are pretty popular for having the halo headrest. The ones I used bolted right in, I did not have to change the seat tracks.
alright thanks a lot i might have to pick a set up if i see them at any junkyards near me since my center console is pretty much broken. i really like the style. i would love to swap to buckets but i like to have the ability to put 2 people in my truck. thanks for the info man.
