I recently inherited a 1994 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0L. This was my fathers truck and when he passed away this past fall I inherited this. Here is the kicker. This truck is plum in color, which is far from desirable. I was wondering what would ever posses Ford to manufacturer such an ugly color. Can anyone in this forum tell me any more about how this color came to be ? I would love to have this truck repainted, but the way I look at it, it doesnt hurt the function of the truck at all. Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks

Just a factory color. I'd get it repainted if you really enjoy the truck and it's in good mechanical/physical shape. A professional job will run you around $1200 though.
