Depending on what year Ranger you have, Ford recommends for 93+ that I know of. I would recommend trying some seafoam for the engine block if its pinging. It may have alot of buildup
I've used seafoam in it just last week. The truck has always seen 89 octane. Just thought I would try 87, so I will go back to the good stuff again.
I use 87 in mine, no problems at all with the fuel octane Clinton, where did you see octane rated at 93+ ?
Howdy Men!!... My book says I can use 10% ethanol and no more. No E85... Drive On!!... Fast freddie
inorder to use the E85 you need stainless tank and fuel lines are made of different material and seals. would then be considered FLEX fuel vehicle probably has a little leaf on the tailgate by the ford logo here is a little tid bit of info http://eerc.ra.utk.edu/etcfc/seaftf/callstuff/E85_FFV_List.pdf
Hahahaaa.... Oddly enough I have the "V" indicator as the 8th vin number,:whistling: although the chart only went up to 2008 for rangers, and didn't list the 4.0 So I would surmise that I better take a close look at th' Pump to see what they are dispencing... :thumbup1: Thanks Fellas Fast Freddie
see i didnt even know that my truck was flex till i had a problem with my fuel sending unit that tells the truck what fuel is in the tank the leaf was taken off my truck when i got it
