No Oil Pressure

    I have a 99 Ranger 3.0. Oil gage rapid movement from mid to 0 then to 0 and stayed. It will start so i do not think it is the cam syncronizer, not sure. Tappets are noizy now. ?How to confirm check for oil pressure?

  3. Could be your oil pump going. Frankly, I don't know how to check for pressure. But if you message member ZRanger28, he may be able to tell you how to check it. Good luck!

    OK,
    Started it to pull into the garage to take a look and lifters are rattling like crazy. Definetly no oil pressure but motor runs. I am going to take a guess here but if it was the cam syncronizer gone the motor would not run, right?
    Must be the oil pump.

    Has any one removed the oil pan on a 4x4 without removing the engin?
