Well, I just joined the Ford Ranger community by buying an '86 Ranger, V6, automatic, 2WD longbed last Thursday for $500. I'm a self-employed handyman and had wrecked my previous truck, an '89 Toyota 1-ton dually flatbed. I think this little Ranger will be much better suited to my needs once I get the fenders straightened out and the transmission working right. I suspect I'll be posting soon looking for advice on that tranny. Meanwhile, here's a pic of the new toy after washing it up. View attachment 300 So far just been doing past-due routine maintenance and cleaning off 25 years of grime. Truck is all original and shows 98K miles. I don't think it has rolled over the speedo as the body is too straight and the wear isn't that bad. Any hoo, I'm located in the hills of northwest Arkansas, a born and bred hillbilly, whose first choice in driving is my '69 Fiat Spider, hence my nickname. But I think I'll like this little truck if it doesn't start falling apart on me.

another link My brother lives just west of Elkins, up on a mountain. He also has a Ranger. Not sure what year, etc., or if it's even running right now.
