I am looking at a 1985 Ranger V6 4x4 with an automatic, and a plow, and want to know if there are problem areas I need to worry about. Considering its in Connecticut, and 25 years old there actually isnt that much rust, mostly surface rust other than the passenger side rear fender which is swiss cheese. Supposedly the truck only has 62,000 miles on it which i may actually believe since its an estate sale. The frame has alot of rust on it but I think I would take care of that with some POR-15. It also sounds like the header on the right side may have a leak. How do things like the brake lines, ebrake cable etc. hold up on these trucks?
Seller says plow and 4x4 work fine, they are asking $950, I was thinking of offering $500.

Any thoughts on if this is a good deal, and/or things to watch out for?
