I parked my 92 3.0L 2wd some time ago because I had a harsh vibration in the drivetrain I could not figure out. I expected a U joint to just be out, slop... but that is not what I found and I didn't have time to get all into it. Well today I finally got mad and just pulled the drive shaft. I don't see any obvious sign a weight is missing. The U joints are not beat out or anything. About all I can find is that on one side of the U joint + the resistance is a little bit more than the other side? Like on the slip yoke end... the bearings in the yoke ears have a tad more resistance to pivoting the yoke than the bearings in the drive shaft ears. Would that be enough to cause a vibration in the driveline?
