What would I need to do to fix my rpm gauge? The needle never reads right and continuously dances around as long as the engine is running.

Welcome to the forum, Randall! If you have a local salvage yard or pull-a-part, you can grab a gauge cluster and plug it into your truck to see if that straightens it out. My guess is, the gauge unit is flaky. If it works fine, you can swap the tach into your original cluster... or just put the salvage yard cluster in. Your choice. HTH!
