bed question

    i went to go put some holes in my bed for tie downs. but i found these in my way. what are they? and why are they there? theres two of them both on the same side of the bed but none on the other side.

    I'd be willing to bet it's for clearance issues for the shackle hanger.

    those are clearences for the fuel filler neck. the beds have two causes they never changed the stamp for the beds with no rear tank.

    oh alright thanks. so im fine to drill through it and put a tie down on the one closest to my tailgate?

    correct. only the one close to the tailgate

    im sure you could do the one in the front if you moved the filler neck outta the way while you drilled

    just an FYI the beds are incredibly thin and if you use rachet straps you are likely to bend it if you just stick it down in the hole you make. just food for thought
