Well, completed my Explorer disc 8.8 swap and 4.56 gear swap this weekend! Siked as hell! Complete overhaul of front and rear suspension. NOTHING is old other than the beams and leaf springs. Whoring will begin tomorrow. I am pleased to say that 4.56s are PERFECT for 33's and 4 wheel disc brakes are AWSOME!! Longest weekend of my life....23 hrs to install.

Here's a couple pics I snapped half way through the weekend:

What size tires are you running to ruin 6 sets of hubs?

I ran a Dana 44 with 39s just fine on my fullsize. You'll be fine with a D44. If you wanna do rocks, find a D44 out of an Early bronco (that way you wont have to go full width). Grap everything up front including radius arms, mounts, axle...etc. You wont need the coils. Get on broncograveyard.com and get your lift coils, radius arm drop brackets and a drop pitman arm. Then get on ballistic fabrication and get their steering setup (TRE that are bombproof). You will need a reamer to ream the knuckles and pitman arm out. For shocks, get early (79) F250 shock towers to run longer shocks for more flex. As for the track bar mount on the frame, you will need to fabricate a mount and weld it to the frame. I believe ballisticfab has one prefabbed that will work. For the radius arms, you will probably need 7 degree shim bushings to set the caster to the correct angle.

Good luck and if you have any more questions, feel free to PM me.

wut do u think about doing leaf springs
because i feel it would be easier and alot cheaper a little straped for cash but i just broke my ttb last weak

There are several rangers/explorers that have gone leafs with SAS but since you have TTB you already have coil buckets on the frame and in place that you can reuse with a SAS if wanted, so that you can continue to use coils and get better flex, and have easier time with steering setup.
