Hello, I searched the forum but did not see this issue. I hope this is not a repeat. Noticed after yesterdays hard rain that water is collecting in the drivers side floorboard of my '97 4X4 Xtra Cab, 4.0. Only noticed when I removed the Weather Tech floor mat. Water is actually puddling above carpet. It's still raining so I've soaked up the excess and assume it will fill again. Has anyone run across this that might suggest the best place to start searching for the problem? Thank you in advance!!!! David

THANK YOU! My '98 is still parked outside and its been raining like a bugger up here for a couple of days. I should go check it (and then put it in the garage!) You water puddling problem stems from a leaky seal. Check under the dash, and make sure its not coming in that way (sometimes a valance filled with leaves and debris can cause a leak. Windshield seal can sometimes leak, too). If you don't see signs of water leaking in that way, its coming in from the door. Might be the perimeter seal, or leaking past the window.
Thank You Dean. It's been raining here as well for several days...very hard last nite and today. Wish I had a place inside to work on this but will start a.s.a.p. Maybe I can cover the cab and windshield area with a tarp to hopefully prevent more water intrusion. It may be a while since these rains need to fill our lake for the summer...30,000 acres = a bunch of rain! However, as soon as I've found something out I will post again. Thanx for your prompt reply! Happy New Year!! David
Hi R.AL. I'm in NorCal...Lake Shasta. Lake was down about 160+ ft. by end of summer. The last few days have helped but it usually takes a solid month of rain to fill us up. Here's wishes for rain for all of us!! David
Dave, Don't know If you have a spot for this, but you can build a temporary "garage" out of 4" plastic pipe and a large blue tarp. ...not mine. I found this on the net - How to Make a Carport That Isn't Ugly (cockeyed.com)
...or you can just get this one off of E-Prey... Quictent Heavy Duty Canopy White 10x20 Carport Car Tent Shelter Gazebo Garage 6955185715505 | eBay
Thank You Dean for a great suggestion. I'll check for any local restrictions and at a minimum might opt for a car cover. Anything to keep the water out until I find my problem. I really appreciate your input!! David...
