I recently got a kit car that has an 86-88 Ranger rear end with 9 inch brakes. The rear brakes were making noise on the test drive but I bought it anyway. When I got around to removing the rear drums, I found there were no links that go between the brake shoes and the wheel cylinders on either driver or passenger side. I have looked extensively on the net and not seen any come up anywhere. Do 86-88 Ranger rear brakes not have links and the shoes directly contact the wheel cylinder pistons? Never seen this before. Please advise.
