all 4x4 rangers 2001 and up - live front axle ( no auto locking hubs ) make sure the large nut on the end of the axle( in the center of the lug nuts ) is torqued up tight ( 150 - 225 ft. lbs. ) it may feel like the wheel bearings may be going if the nut is not properly torqued down.

4x4 front axle the 2001 and newer 4x4 rangers have live axles ( no locking hubs - no auto locking hubs ) and shifts only at transfer case.

check the wiring to the solinoid that locks the front axle, the axle may be locked in, engaging the front axle, while not in 4X4.

4 wheel drive as you shift into 4-wheel drive, there is an electric acuator that engages the front axle to run in 4-wheel drive mode (to lock it in). when in 2-wheel drive, the front axle should not be turning, (also front drive shaft should not be rotating ) thus - automatic locking hubs.

fog lights my 08 FX4 has fog lights. to turn them on, the headlight switch is pulled out when the switch is rotated to the right. they only operate on low beam. you may just need to upgrade the switch when you install the fog lights, hoping the wires are already there. good luck :thumbsup:

rear axle one of the reasons I ordered a 2008 FX4 is because of the limited-slip rear axle-TORSON-4.10:1 for pulling a trailer and traction control. I don`t think it helps for highway mileage though.
