    That's the starter Solenoid...like a 12 buck part...sometimes you can wack it with a hammer to make it work again....temporary fix at best....replace it and your woes will end. copy and paste everything below...

    And here I am maxing out @ 19mpg mixed city/highway....(more highway sadly). driving it like a grandma. I've got to figure this out. I went on a road trip in my Lotus and got 28mpg...with several 120mph runs...lots of full throttle to ~80 and this little truck can't get 20mpg limping along...

    A search on this forum and "therangerstation" would have yielded your answer...but yes Explorer seats work...might need to use your factory rails, but the seats themselves work. Extended cab p/u share front floorpan with Explorers. I believe it changed in 2001...so that's when you'll def. need...
