2001 4.0 XLT turns over no start

...gas? Sorry, that sounds facetious, but sometimes the simplest things can be easily overlooked, especially when the problem becomes a head scratcher. If it has gas, is the fuel pump working? Are the injectors injecting? It sounds like you've taken care of the ignition side, so you might want...

Check for a broken CV boot on the front axle.

    1999 Ranger 4x4 5-speed tranny issue??

Is the clunk a one time thing, when driving in those conditions you described, or is it constant? I'd start by the tranny mount, u-joints, the carrier bearing and the suspension.

37K over 9 years. That's a little over 4100 miles/year....I thought my mom didn't put many miles on her car. WOW! In 20 years that truck is still going to be PRISTINE! -b

Head replacement in vehicle. Timing chain cover

Do you have enough room to just drop the pan far enough to clear the timing chain cover?

Head replacement in vehicle. Timing chain cover

If the pan seals the timing cover (like on a SBC), then you'll have to remove the pan, too.

    2007 Ranger vibration issue

If you feel it in the seat, then the vibration could very well be coming from the rear wheels/tires. If you felt it in the steering wheel, I'd say the vibration could be coming from the front wheels/tires. Yeah, take it to Les Schwab. They do suspension and driveline work, too, so they may be...

Head replacement in vehicle. Timing chain cover

Looks like this, right? If you think (or know) its original, I would swap the chain out as a matter of "piece-of-mind". Nothing to make you feel more stupid that to go through all that, only to have it throw the chain in a month's time, because you failed to replace it while it was apart the...

    2007 Ranger vibration issue

teddy, Do you feel the vibration in the steering wheel or the whole truck? Vibrations that come in and out at certain speeds are usually wheel/tire related. I'd take it to Les Schwab and have the balance on the tires checked. Might also be a bent rim or a tire with a broken sidewall...

    temperature issue.

Its very easy to see that the highest point on my '98 XL is the heater core, thus the trapped air.

    temperature issue.

I'm thinking there's still some air trapped in the engine somewhere...probably on top of the heater core.....Why Ford?! Why?!

    temperature issue.

Then why would be the heater blow cold air, Tom?

    temperature issue.

Good luck burping the system. I recently replaced the radiator on my '98 XL w/ 2.5. If you look, you'll notice the heater core sits above the engine and the radiator. Hope you have a cherry picker to lift the front of the truck, because that's about what its gonna take to get the radiator higher...

    Unavailable parts.

When you say the part is no longer available, are you saying the dealership doesn't offer it anymore, or ALL PARTS STORES (that you've tried so far) don't carry it?
