    1999 Ford Ranger 2.5l, 5 speed

First off, congrats on your new acquisition. I've got pretty much the same thing, but from the year before. If you ever replace the clutch and get the pedal to work like its supposed to, PM me. As for your question, was there any indication the starter had already been replaced? Sometimes...

Rearend Swap - Speed Sensor wiring

I'm suggesting that you can possibly make up for any differences you may run across between what the speedo tells you and how fast you're actually going, by changing the size of the tire...in lieu of making a change to the computer itself. All you'd have to do is figure out what size to change...

Rearend Swap - Speed Sensor wiring

It could, but how would changing the wirinig harness correct this? I would think you'd have to change out the PROM at the ECM or swap out the actual geared wheel in the rear end that the sensor reads, for the one that would correspond with the gear ratio the truck originally had.....or maybe...

    Air bag light on

...and the dealer couldn't diagnose and solve the problem, or did they just throw up their hands and say, "beats me!" ?

    Ranger limited 2012

Bad thing about the Ranger, once production stopped, so did parts manufacture. Normally, parts continue to be made and offered for 10 years after production of a vehicle ceases, but Ford just completely stopped everything, all at once. It was such an odd move, that it actually made the national...

    Air bag light on

Take it back to the dealer. They probably caused the code when they replaced the bag and forgot to clear it.

Demand for 2019 Ford Rangers is through the roof

Good to hear. Maybe if it proves popular enough, they'll start offering parts for the older models (like MINE!) again. -b

    Fixing upholstery...

I know the mono isn't hard to break. As I said in my opening post, its just 2lb. test, but its the wear factor that I'm thinking about, not so much the tensile strength. Still, I hear what you're saying. I don't have any braided line, but I do have some monofilament. I will check on braided...

It is monofilament. Why do you think its not a good choice?

    Engine pinging after shutting off

Are you talking about setting the lash on the valves? I ask because one does not torque down push rods....unless you're talking about something else? Push rods are the hollow metal tubes that sit between the cam lifters in the block and the rocker arms in the head. You set the lash on the valves...

New Pics. Havent been on in awhile

Nice truck. Looks like a real spiffy trail runner. I don't see any kind of traction aiding device listed in your mods. If the BFG's are any clue to your intended use for the truck, maybe a Locker or a Tru-Trac (or even a Trac-Lok!) might be in order. Nothing to make you feel more stupid than...

    Cornfused

..better yet, let me do it for you. Here's the picture posting section. Just create a new thread and post pics of your truck.....http://www.rangerforum.com/forums/ranger-media.39/

    Cornfused

...actually the yellow truck and the last truck both have a cleft down the middle of the hood. There is a section here for posting pics. You should post some there and then you can just link to them (my link is in my sig). Good luck with your project.
