Anybody have any info on this?? I know what it's from (97-00 Explorer), but how he made his brackets? I read above about it being on another forum...links??
Thanks for any help.
I've been a big fan of Centric Posi Quiet line of pads ever since I did the Centric Power Stop slotted rotor swap and the kit came with them. The kit came with Posi Quiet semi-metallic's. They were super quiet and had very very very little dust, and stopped very well. That's something the...
Nothing beats hearing sounds in person, but I can assure you it's not a timing chain (currently trying to find my before engine swap vid of mine with horrible horrible timing chain slappings). It sounds consistent...I'm willing to bet it's more exhaust leak than anything else. Also, these...
30's on a 3" BL'd 98+ 4x4 is gonna look dumb. Heck I thought 32's looked dumb on mine and I rocked 32's in stock setup. PS: 4x4's of your vintage and of mine got 30.5" (245/75r16) or 31x1050 tires stock. You have smaller tires than mine did off the showroom floor.
Just leave it or lift it...
What the others said.... '06+ have no chrome bumpers what so ever. Even the back ones are all painted.
Best bet if you want chrome is to go to an older style bumper, like the 01-05 style. There's two different style bumpers and 2 different style valences. Take a peek at LMCTruck.com's...
This.
OP... it wouldn't be possible with the parts you list. Superlift uses new taller knuckles that take into account the new location of the LCA's.
HOWEVER, it is possible to have a 3" BL, 4" Superlift, AND a Dixon Bro's Racing Long Travel and have it all work. The DBR Kit...
You sound VERY educated...
Considering every single person with a bodylift on THIS application DO NOT report ANY of the issues you're claiming. I'd like to see how a bed gets pushed over the BL blocks...especially since there's 6 or 8 or even 10 depending on year and bed length...
I'm digging the probably pie-cut rear leaf setup. 'Cause honestly, that rear pack looks like someone cut a regular pack in half, welded in a wedge, and called it good. lol.
You will have to do something about the driveshaft, e-brake, brake lines, and exhaust if you change the frame before the axle.
Or are you trying to swap a reg cab-long bed frame under your xcab-short bed body? If so, a couple cab mounts need fabbed up and possibly a couple of the bed...
16.5 ain't that bad considering the truck's MSRP was probably darn near 35k just 6 years ago. Especially with that low of miles.
See if they'll entertain 15.5, and be happy with a low mile, lightly used, nice pickup.
Not really. Seems fairly reasonable. 15-20k 10yr old full size diesel powered trucks aren't uncommon around these parts. Heck I'm budgeting 20-25k for a 6yr old truck.
Dude, Brinker. If this is local to you, you seriously need to go look at it and take tons and post tons of those pics here. I wanna be amazed looking at them and I'm sure that Pirate thread about jimmy'd up half-ass stuff would greatly appreciate it!!
Budget for trans work in the future... those old 7.3 autos are notorious for failure with even little engine power modifications. Otherwise, sweet ride!
Years??
Decoding the VIN# will definitively tell you engine size. 8th digit... U = 3.0. X = 4.0 OHV. E = 4.0 SOHC.
If it's got a leaf on the tailgate, the leaf emblem means flex fuel, which also means 3.0. No other flex engine was available on the American Ranger. I believe 3.0's have...
