    4 wheel drive not working

You may have disconnencted wire/s running to the transfer case that realizes the truck is in 4X4 and sends no signal to the instrument panel. Is your truck a turn knob 4X4 selector like near the air vents or a stick in the floor?

    Radio Detachment

Taking the whole dash panel around the radio may help so you can see how it's attached. That's the only idea I have. If I remember there are two screws right above the controls for the ac and such that need to be removed. The rest of that dash part has those push pin deals.

    Winter Time!

Nobody can get any traction in ice unless you run chains or spikes. Winter tires help a little in ice and possible airing your tires down lower than usual may help too I don't know. However the only place a 4X4 will help is in snow like 2"+ and that can be offroading or on the roads where the...

    2003 XLT 4WD Lift

There are several options...A Superlift 4" lift is good for 33" tires. It uses drop brackets to lift your suspension, but leaves your truck's torsion bars at the same place as stock. It gives you bigger tires and a beefier suspension. Third the RCD lift gives your truck a 5" lift in the front...

    hey there

Hey man! It's jelly's ford from the ORR. It's cool to hear from somebody from there. I haven't heard what the deal is and why it's not running though. Peace!

    3.0 cats????

Did you lose any power when you did that? That's what I wanted to do to my 4.0 but the muffler guy told me that was bad because I would lose all my backpressure and having to mess with all those sensors in the exhaust. Maybe it's different in a 3.0. Anyways dude it's your truck so you can...

    Fuel economy

Different qualities of gas could make this change. But I would'nt think that much of a difference. Have you changed the air filter? Thats a start and running a bottle of that fuel injector cleaner would help too to clean out clogs.

    Lift Kit

In regard to my earlier post, there are two more options that I remembered. One is the camburg lift that gives alot of wheel travel and replaces the torsion bars much like the procomp lift. However, of course it costs even more than the procomp. Lastly, if you want a monster truck Ranger you can...

    Lift Kit

There are several options...including a PA body lift that adds 3" of lift. This is the cheapiest lift, and is good for putting bigger tires on; it keeps your center of gravity down, but does not give any advantage over a stock suspension while offroading except for bigger tires and its a pain to...

    headers?

In regard to my earlier comment, the only thing wrong I see with headers, is messing with different sensors that might be somewhat messed up if headers are added. Plus everytime you change your oil in the truck, I highly recommend going back and making sure the header bolts are still snug.

    plugs and wires

Autolite, Bosch, motorcraft (Ford), and of course MSD are really good brands of spark plugs. Ha MSD wires would be good also. But for a Ranger the motorcraft ones are good, and accel makes wires for almost every truck. You could always stop by an advance auto parts or O'reilys auto parts and...

    headers?

Yeah man, jba are good, or hookers also. I'm thinking putting a set on my 4.0 to (hopefully) make it a bit louder. Plus headers also increase exhaust flow just like dual exhaust or even just a cat back. If you had both headers and an exhaust system your engine would work 10x better getting...

Hey fellas! My name is Matt Jellicorse. I've been driving my 2001 Ranger for over 4 years and still love it! All the mods are in my signature. I believe that a truck is a truck and it can be used, so if it gets mud all over it, I'm ok with that. However when I do it dirty its washed nearly...

    General Grabber AT2 255/70R15 tires

    1. General tire is a part of Continental Tire of North America, based in Charlotte, NC. So yes they are a good brand of course being American made, plus I have heard some other people use that tire you're asking about and were greatly pleased. The tread design is much like the BFG AT's. 2. Is...

stock 2006 ranger 4x4 sport - biggest tire size?

I have 16' wheels like you do and, I run 265/75/16 and have no problems. I thought about putting 285/75/16's on my ranger but the tire shop said they would rub at full crank, unless I cranked the Tbars or put a lift on. Check out http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/TireFitment.html for...

    speed restriction

I have an 01 4x4 stepside with a 4.0 and 4.10 gears and it stops going any faster at 101 to 103. Revving like a mofo, haha. So yes there is a restriction on mine. How to take it off, not real sure. But I wouldnt like to go any faster it seriously felt like the truck was gonna fly off the road.

Bilsteins dude!! Ha but really there is nothing really IMO that rides better especially in offroad handling. Also I heard the edelbrock ones are pretty sweet. I currently run bilsteins and noticed a significant difference from those stock crap ones haha.
