u can usually borrow a code reader from ur local parts dealer, (ADVANCED AUTO PARTS, AUTO ZONE, O'RILEYS etc..

to replace it, disconnect the sensor then start the truck n let it idle for five min, then unscrew the sensor (be carefull it will b hot), then put the new one in and let the engine cool then plug in the wires

if you need to break em all you can replace the bolts with 8.8 grade bolt and nuts from your local hardware store and they work fine, thats what i use

look for any air leaks between the air box and throttle body, any vacuum leaks especially from the intake to the PCV valve the rubber hoses are known to deteriorate and cause leaks. Check all the vacuum lines.

try replacing your iac, usually takes 15 min
