I have a 1997 ford ranger and the spare tire carrier is missing pieces and I can't seem to find anything online. All that comes up when I search it is the winch style spare tire mount. But the one under mine is a hinge with a bar. Anybody got any idea where I could find one?

Hello Tyler and welcome to the forum! I've never heard of the type you describe on a Ranger. Is it possible a previous owner retro-fitted the bar type?
Yeah I've never seen that type either on a Ranger. My 94' F150 had that style, but even my 94' Xcab Ranger had the cable type. I'll keep researching.
Hey, looks like I'm late. I've got the same type on my splash. I'll post a pic so you can see what he's talking about. Might be a day or so yet, got plans for the rest of today.
Got a break, here's a pic. There was a spare tire on it, had to take it off because the pin broke which is now held up by fence wire.
Did some searching and got 2 results on eBay out of all places I could think of. The magical search term ended up being "Ford ranger spare tire bar". https://m.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw...are+tire.TRS0&_nkw=ford+ranger+spare+tire+bar
Good day, I have the same setup under my 97 Ranger XLT supercab. Have not had to use it which is a good thing, though I should familiarize myself with it. Sorry, I don't mean to jump in on the conversation, just letting people know that there are others that do have the same sit-up.
i just joined, have two, 1993 and 96. the 96 spair is 90% missing and quite different. the 93 is one of the best i have seen - i plan to fit it to the 96. i think the 96 is a "short box". later vinn
