I was wondering if anyone knows if the 96 crown vic 4.6 will sit in the Ranger and maybe some helpful suggestions thanks.

Yes but with a lot of work. The std 302 fits easier and should give you all of the power you will ever need. Search under 4.6 engines and see what has been done.
Trucks on power block tv did the 4.6l swap in a Mazda b2500(ranger) I believe they did it in an 01 and they had to do a but load of mods to get it to fit and even after all the mods there where several issues that I would think would end up being clearance issues later on down the road.
