im pretty sure any 5 speed trans u use u will have to cut floor pan some i am using a BWt5 on my 5.0 swap i will have to cut mine back bout 3in but im goin to use a reversed hurst shifter to bring it back foward to it almost normal spot
honestly wouldn't you want to have to? it would give it the same shift location as a foxbody or most cars at that, but any how it's more comfortable instead of reaching all the way to the damn dash to shift like rangers are
2X, not sure 4X, yes there are a few ! I know I own a 2x… I do not know for sure but was wondering, there are sssooo many transmissions out there in the after market place and of course the JY, I would think there has to be one that would work. Question is, will it bolt up to a 302. Do you already have a BUILT 302… or still open ? What’s been done to it to make it a BUILT engine ? Luck on the trans search.
Yes it is a built 302 and its been done for awhile now I couldnt use a t5 because the shifter is at the tail shaft and would have to cut another hole in my floor plus have to notch the center seat so I had a c4 built to hold the power and put a ratchet shifter in the floor
And its a mild build 306, forged internals, high compression pistons, everything cut and balanced, shaved, ported, and polished heads, larger valves, lunati springs 585 lift cam, weind intake, holly carb
Isn't there a kit to move the shifter on a T5 to a more forward position ? I hotshot that I saw something like that !
Found this one for starters, http://www.autoworksparts.com/billet_shifter_relocation_kit.htm. Maybe others...
