Hello all!!! Long time since I've been on here! I've run across a 2005 Ranger FX4 Level II (beautiful blue color) with 126k miles on it. It seems to be well cared for with normal wear and tear associated with an 8 year old vehicle. The question I have is that this truck is a little special from what I remember when I looked at them back when they were new. Not Raptor special... but definitely different. Are they worth slight price increase they demand over a regular 4x4 in the used car market?

they are kinda worth it, is it an auto or a manual? they have a locking rear diff, not sure what else they had, I've always wanted a twin stick LVL II
It should have a 4.0 SOHC engine (in my opinion REALLY good), towing package, black vinyl floor, 4:10 rear with limited slip and some other things I can't think of right now lol Do you have any pics of it to post?
It's an automatic. I don't have pictures as of this moment since when I looked at it, I immediately discounted it due to not having child seat anchors... Or so I thought. A little research when I got home proved me wrong and now I'm REALLY wanting it. The dealership wants $8990 for it and I figure I can get them to come off another ~$800-1000 when "dead presidents" are involved. I hope so anyway.
Ok... so I went to the dealer and sadly, the Ranger is not possible for me. I checked and could not locate a child seat anchor anywhere... nor the room to fit one aside from the front seat. That's not acceptable for me as I have to be able to carry my wife and daughter simultaneously. I wish this would have worked out. If someone can post pics of their child seats in the Ranger NOT in the front, please do so and I will definitely begin negotiations with that truck. I wanted it badly.
Sad to say but for the safety of your family, it isn't a very suitable truck for you. I am a certified child safety seat inspector for the NHTSA and I don't recommend it unless you had absolutely no choice. Hopefully the sport trac will do better for you guys
