Thinking about paintin some of the parts on my dashboard. just some of the defrost vents and the console holding the radio in and the cup console. Didn't know if anyone had any suggestions or advice before I under-go this project.

I have used krylon fusion then krylon claer coat to paint my interior plastics. I sand them with 800 grit, then wash them with soap and water, let it dry completely then paint. I usually do 3 coats of paint and 5 coats of clear to prevent chipping

Good luck with the bedliner sticking for good, a guy tried that with his fender flares on his XLS and after while it started chipping and peeling, but may work out for you. I also suggest using Krylon, its good for inside and exterior pieces.

Pretty sure I painted this interior with Krylon back when I had the truck and turned out great. [IMG] I also painted the cowl under my wipers back to black and has worked out well.

Thanks, I don't have that one anymore. Haven't made any effort to paint the bezels in the other ones, have to find a close match to my exterior color then I will :D

buggman Do not touch the trim!

Krylon Fusion all the way on the plastics.

If you're gonna paint the vinyl armrests, DO NOT use Fusion, it will NEVER dry. I found this out the hard way. I had to get some fabric & vinyl paint. Worked like a charm & dried in a couple hours.

I am also planning to paint my dashboard with Black..Going to use Krylon Fusion, very good for plastic..It bonds plastics directly and hence no need of sanding or priming. My friend already used it and got very good results.. It can be also used on other surfaces like Glass, metal,Wood etc..Will post pics after completing my painting..
